| BRIDGER COUNTRY ... A Land of Promise
We
love working the Bridger area and have lots of
listings both in and around Bridger. The
space that we once rented is now for sale but we
still love Bridger and take pride in our
properties for sale there. Bridger has a population of approximately 700 people and is just 30 miles from Red Lodge and 40 miles from Billings.
Amanchab'e Chije is the Crow Indian name for the blue swell of mountains which we call the Pryors today. These heavily-wooded mountains with their many hidden ice-caves, rise to the east of Bridger while the imposing Absaroka/Beartooth Range of the Rockies stretches high into the southwestern sky.
Sunsets here can be spectacular.
Bridger Country nestles between the mountains' arms and stretches along the Clark's Fork of the Yellowstone. This winding river, with its series of attendant ponds and small marshes, provides a home for every kind of wildlife the West offers. Otters and ducks, bald eagles and cormorants live here, as do deer and the magnificent sandhill crane. Bridger Country is situated onone of the great North American migratory flyways, so huge flocks of Canadian geese are common. Monarch butterflies, hummingbirds and pelicans visit Bridger Country.
The highest Montana mountains are only a few miles away, yet the Clarks Fork River Valley is one of the richest agricultural lands in the state. Wheat, beans, corn, barley and sugar beets grow well in the sandy loam. Apple orchards and grape arbors are a common sight. Irrigation water from the southern mountains make everything possible.
But Bridger Country is more than agriculture.
Bridger
is only 40 miles south of Billings, Montana's largest city and major trading hub for the entire region. Bridger sits astride busy highway 310, a main artery of traffic from all of Wyoming and Yellowstone Park to points north. The Interstate system did not leave Bridger out in the cold.
Bridger Country supports diversity. Montana's largest furniture factory has been here for over 25 years, drawing stable employees from a pool of folks well-acquainted with American work ethic. Bridger offers small town, living, unequaled recreation opportunities including the Red Lodge Ski Resort and Country Club Estates with its fabulous 18 hole golf course just 30 miles away. Bridger also provides excellent schools and business opportunities for the enterprising.
Come visit Bridger Country.
You'll see why those who live here would not want to be anywhere else.
Thanks for your visit.
